Recent letter carrier deaths

NALC is deeply saddened to learn of the recent deaths of these letter carriers.

On-duty death

Mark Hunt died on June 3 after he was in a car accident while on his route. Brother Hunt started as a letter carrier in 2021 and was a member of Travelers Rest, SC Branch 5423. He is survived by his partner Diahna Hutchinson and his parents Mark and Susan. He was 41.

Off-duty deaths

Stacy Lamb was killed on June 10 after she was struck by a vehicle while she was walking her dog. Sister Lamb was a member of South Central Indiana Branch 828 and carried the mail for 15 years. She was 50.

Anne Jewell died on June 24 after suffering from a heart attack on her way home from work. Sister Jewell was a letter carrier for 22 years and a member of Seattle, WA Branch 79. She was 56.

Cqurteshia Williams was murdered on June 25. Sister Williams was a new letter carrier who started in 2021 and was a member of Atlanta, GA Branch 73. She was 32.

“On behalf of NALC, I send my deepest sympathies to these letter carriers’ families, friends and colleagues,” NALC President Fredric Rolando said. “We mourn the losses of these members.”
