How to Apply for a Relief Grant
Support through the NALC Disaster Relief Foundation is available to any NALC member who meets the following criteria:
- Applicant must be a NALC member as defined in the NALC Constitution (Article 2, Section 1(a)).
- Grants are considered only for damage to a primary residence, vehicle, or personal property caused by a natural disaster (e.g., hurricane, flood, tornado, wildfire, earthquake, or severe storm).
- All damage is subject to verification.
- Members do not need to wait for emergency relief or insurance claims to apply.
- If temporarily displaced due to the primary residence being uninhabitable, applicants must submit a signed, personal narrative explaining the specific reasons for and anticipated duration of the displacement.
- Applications must be received within 120 days of the date the disaster occurred, unless the applicant provides sufficient justification for late submission. Requests for exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the NALCDRF Directors.
Please refer to the official application for full eligibility requirements and instructions. Click here for the Application for Relief Grant.
REMINDER: Along with your grant form, please attach supporting documentation, such as pictures of the damaged home/auto/property, a copy of home ownership, copies of bills or receipts, etc.
