Rochester, NY Branch 210 President Emeritus Norman C. LeFrois dies

NALC is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Norman C. LeFrois, president emeritus of Rochester, NY, Branch 210, on Jan. 1, 2025. He was 83.

LeFrois joined the NALC in 1966, immediately upon beginning his career as a letter carrier. After witnessing the 1970 Great Postal strike, he was elected branch trustee. He became branch treasurer in 1972 and was elected branch president in 1974, a position he held until 1989.

In 1991, LeFrois was appointed regional administrative assistant for Region 11. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1996 and from his RAA position in 1997.

Throughout his career and retirement, LeFrois served in a variety of elected and appointed roles, including regional representative, director of retirees, chairman of the rules committee and director of insurance.

He is survived by his son, David; his sister, Phyllis; his companion, Carole; and two grandchildren.

A member of the NALC for nearly 60 years, LeFrois will be missed by his branch and union brothers and sisters across the country. “Brother LeFrois dedicated his life to improving the lives of letter carriers, and his impact will not be forgotten,” NALC President Brian L. Renfroe said. “We honor his many years of leadership and service to Branch 210 and extend our heartfelt sympathies to his loved ones.”
