NALC letter to USPS Board of Governors’ regarding legislative relief

Today, NALC, along with the other postal unions, sent a letter to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Board of Governors (BOG) thanking them for their leadership during the current national crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The letter (viewable here) calls for the continued resistance of the Treasury Department’s inappropriate attempts to interfere in the management and operations of the Postal Service.

The letter also thanks the BOG for promoting immediate legislative relief to help the agency survive this public health and economic crisis.

As the BOG noted, USPS is in dire need of financial assistance from Congress if it is to survive the current Covid-19 crisis and the associated economic downturn. To support our continued efforts, letter carriers should continue contacting their members of Congress to urge support for funding in the next stimulus package.

Let Congress know that there is overwhelming voter support for funding (link to poll here).
