Legislative Updates
Members of Congress are back in their home districts throughout next week for the Memorial Day district work period. They will return to Washington, DC, on Monday, June 6.
Once they return to Washington, lawmakers will have just over a month before they are expected to depart again in July for summer recess. Chatter on Capitol Hill, however, suggests that both chambers could depart well before July 4.
While members are back home, NALC encourages activists to reach out and talk about how lawmakers can support a strong and vibrant Postal Service. But it’s never too early to set up a meeting with your representatives.
