On March 16, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform approved the Postal Reform Act of 2017 (H.R. 756) and the Postal Service Financial Improvement Act of 2017 (H.R. 760).

Paid parental leave bills introduced in House and Senate

The Federal Employee Paid Parental Leave Act has been reintroduced in the House and Senate to provide federal employees up to six weeks of paid leave following the birth, adoption or fostering of a new child. Click here to read more.

Resolutions update:
218 is just around the corner

Now more than ever, it’s important for letter carriers to educate members of Congress on the importance of co-sponsoring NALC’s priority resolutions, especially as the conversation continues on postal reform. These resolutions have seen broad bipartisan support in previous Congresses and our progress toward exceeding 218 co-sponsors of each is on track. In only two months, the numbers are remarkable—but there is more work to do. Keep up the great work!
