U.S. package deliveries hit their peak

On average, the Postal Service delivers around 11 million packages per day to homes across the United States. This is nearly double the amount of home deliveries made by UPS and almost six times the home deliveries made by FedEx.

During the holidays, the Postal Service expects to deliver at least 50 million packages on peak delivery days—five times its daily average package volume.

By comparison, UPS expects 34 million package deliveries during peak delivery days and FedEx expects 23 million packages during peak delivery days.
