The entire NALC Executive Council was in Washington, DC, for round-the-clock contract negotiations. They were to be there until the 2006-2011 contract ended at midnight on Nov. 20.

The referendum vote in Ohio repealing Gov. John Kasich’s anti-collective-bargaining law sent the message far beyond the Buckeye State’s borders that voters will not support laws that tr y to balance state budgets at the expense of workers’ rights.
