The delegate registration and housing reservation process has begun for the 2008 NALC National Convention in Boston, July 21-25, with the mailing to all branches of Delegate Eligibility Lists and housing materials.
Rooms at NALC-bloc hotels will be assigned on a first-come, first served basis, but all housing requests must be accompanied by a completed Delegate Eligibility List and a $185 deposit for each room requested, NALC Secretary-Treasurer Jane E. Broendel has announced.
Requests for housing will not be honored unless accompanied by a completed Delegate Eligibility List. As part of the process, branches should include room lists which can be submitted either :
by using the forms contained in the late January mailing; or
by using the electronic Housing spreadsheet (available for download in .xls format; right click and save to your computer), then saving the completed branch housing file to a 3.5-inch diskette or cd (in .xls or .dif format) and returning it to NALC Headquarters with the other required convention registration and housing materials.
NALC-bloc hotels will accept reservations only from the Boston Branch 34 Housing Committee.
"Don't call the hotels because they won't accept your reservations," Secretary-Treasurer Jane Broendel reminds delegates.
The convention registration deadline is May 21.
For more specific information on the registration and reservation process, branch secretary-treasurers should consult the instructions attached to the Delegate Registration and Housing Reservation form.
NALC's 66th Biennial Convention will be held July 21-25, 2008
at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, MA.
